英文摘要 | The cession of Taiwan in the year of 1895 was an earth-shattering change to Taiwan under the governance of the Qing Dynasty. To the East Asia, it also manifested a profound impact on the cultural restructuring. This article aims to sort out the deeds and discourses carried out in Taiwan in the year of 1895 by the Christians, including the Taiwan local Christians, missionaries sent to Taiwan by the Inga Presbyterian Church, military pacifiers sent from the Japanese churches and Christians without a belonging church. As a witness of the historical traumas, how did the Christians as a whole see and judge the actants of the relevant events? And how did they uphold their identify between the phenomenal time of events and existential time of belief to unfold the determination for actions across the ethnic borders? How did the over-the-horizon vision that penetrated the traumas shape Taiwan's diversified cultural subjectivity? Hopefully, the retrospection of Christian narrative poetry in the face of the historical traumas can help manifest the meaning of Christian value in the grand change of Taiwan. |
