英文摘要 | This paper investigates the ball passing frequency and impact forces of a long stroke ball screw drive system using multi-body dynamics. The computer mechanism model consists of rotating nut, screw, bearing, linear guide, and several hundreds of steel balls. Over one thousand of contact conditions are created to simulate the interaction between steel balls and other components. Based on the curvatures of steel ball, nut, and screw, the contact stiffness of each ball is found using Hertz contact stress theory. Computer simulation results show that axial forces (Z direction) of screw come from the impact between balls and end caps, which also lead to the generation of ball passing frequency. However, the radial forces (X and Y directions) are larger compared to axial forces and they consist of ball centrifugal forces, friction forces, and gyroscope forces. The analysis results also reveal that ball passing frequency is not obvious and no harmonic found under no cage condition. |
