| 英文摘要 | Why minority groups tend to be stigmatized on media? To explain it fairly and fully, one should not stay limited to the process of news production. Instead, one needs to consider the enduring values held by media professionals as a collective. Drawing on Herbert Gans, this paper asserts that journalists hold dear the "enduring values" formulated by their cultural experiences and cultivated in their educational process. This suggests that much can be done in communication education for boosting multicultural values and perspectives. By appropriating cultural activism in approach, internship programs can be designed in a way like field study so that students are exposed to the life-worlds of various socio-cultural groups. Thus, cultural diversity can be experienced and understood first-handedly from the angle of minority groups as the reported. With field education as such, there is hope to change the enduring values held by media professionals. |
