中文摘要 | 近年來在台灣的校園中,除了各式外語檢定與活動外,隨著「自主學習」概念的引入,各校也紛紛籌建起「外語自學中心」,讓學生在課餘時間,可以依自己的興趣和需求來學習外語。目前台灣技職院校已成立自學中心的比例雖然已經很高,但是部分自學中心並沒有達到預計的效果,這種情況顯示出學校在提升學生語言能力的同時,除了設立自學中心外,更需強化中心的營運管理。本研究以「南台科技大學外語自學中心」為研究主體,除了檢視其營運狀況外,並佐以相關文獻與該中心人員的管理實務,藉此對台灣技職院校語言自學中心的管理模式進行初步探索。本研究的管理模式包括:自學中心籌設理由、工作人員、學習者、學習資源、學習活動、器材設備、學習輔導以及成果評量等項目。 |
英文摘要 | Recent years have seen the increased attention being given to “self-access learning” and “self-access foreign language learning center” in Taiwan’s colleges. Students get access to these resource facilities, building up their foreign language ability based on their own interests and needs after regular classes. Up to this date, many local vocational colleges have set up self-access centers; however, some of them fail to achieve satisfactorily. Needs arise to examine the causes of those centers which run with limited efficiency. The subject of the research is “The Self-access Foreign Language Learning Center in Southern Taiwan University.” The discussing focuses on operation performance, with related literature review and practical management experience from the personnel in the center. This paper aims to offer the preliminary discussion of current self-access foreign language learning centers in Taiwan’s collages in vocational track. The research involves the background reasons for establishing self-access centers, staffing, learners’ profiles, learning materials, learning activities, physical setting and resources, counseling, and evaluation. |
