中文摘要 | 許多學者強調製造早期參與新產品發展的重要性,唯實證研究卻顯示製造早期參與對新產品績效的貢獻相當有限;此外,許多學者建議透過跨功能輪調、訓練來提昇製造早期參與,唯實證研究卻得到不一致的結果。本研究以新產品發展早期階段的技術分析為焦點,探討製造代表的技術分析參與度及技術分析熟練度之配合對新產品績效的影響、跨功能輪調及跨功能訓練對製造代表的技術分析參與度及技術分析熟練度之影響,並以本省資訊硬體產品製造廠商的42個產品開發專案為實證對象。研究結果顯示,製造代表的跨功能輪調/訓練對其技術分析熟練度、新產品可製造性皆有顯著的正向影響,製造代表的技術分析參與度及技術分析熟練度之配合對新產品市場績效及新產品可製造性亦有非常顯著的正向影響。最後,研究者依據實證研究結果對產品開發管理及後續研究做一些討論及建議。 |
英文摘要 | Many scholars have emphasized the significance of early manufacturing involvement (EMI), but empirical studies have indicated that the contribution from EMI to new product performance was limited. Many scholars have addressed a protest to promote EMI through cross-functional rotation and training, but empirical researches have evidenced differential findings. This study, with a focus on technical assessment in the early phases of new product development (NPD), examines the impact of fit between manufacturing representatives’ involvement and proficiency in technical assessment on NPD performance, and the influence of cross-functional rotation and training on reps’ involvement and proficiency in technical assessment. Forty-two product development projects from information hardware product manufacturers in Taiwan were sampled as empirical subjects. The results indicate that cross-functional rotation and training for manufacturing’s reps have significantly positive effects on their technical assessment proficiency and new product manufacturability. Also, the findings show that the fit between reps’ involvement and proficiency in technical assessment results in higher new product market performance and manufacturability. Finally, managerial implications in NPD and recommendations for future research are presented. |
