中文摘要 | 節省能源消耗不但有經濟成本的因素,也有環保上的考量。國際標準組織已經著手相關之規範,來減少通訊設備之能源消耗,歐盟甚至規定這些設備須符合其規範之能耗標準,方可販售。被動光網路(Passive Optical Networks,PON)是提供寬頻接取的主要技術之一,隨著布建逐漸普及,承載的業務日趨多元,網路傳輸頻寬需求也越來越高,ITU-T G.987提出了被動光網路最新之節能休眠技術,ONU可以藉由進入休眠模式以降低耗能,標準中包含了“假寐”(doze mode)以及“週期性睡眠”(cyclic sleep)兩種節能模式,本文將詳細地介紹這兩種休眠機制之基本原理以及在實際應用時的技術考量。 |
英文摘要 | Reducing energy consumption is not only for economic reason but is also an urgent issue for protecting the global environment. Recently ITU-T has started to make effort on standardizing energy efficient networks. The European Union (EU) even prohibits to sale the product which cannot meet the requirement of its power-saving rules. Passive optical network (PON) is the one of the main technologies of broadband access. Due to the popularity of the deployment and the variety of the carried services, the network bandwidth requirement becomes more and more demanding. The ITU-T G.987 proposes a new sleeping technology for the power-saving PON; ONU can lower down the power consumption by way of entering sleeping mode, which includes doze mode and cyclic sleep mode. This article will describe the basic principle of the sleeping technology in more detail and list the implementation issues in a real practice application. |
