英文摘要 | Besides high bandwidth and low loss, fiber has light weight and EMI-free advantages, which is the main reason of replacing twisted pairs in deploying subscriber loops in recent years. But the major constraint of fiberzing subscriber loop is still the expensive cost of op to-electronics components. A point-to-multipoint Passive Optical Network (PON) has economic advanateges in delivering telecommunications services due to resources sharing over a number of customers. By way of the passive star distribution and cost sharing by all subscribers, PON is very adequate to provid voice/data, and image/video services in residential and small-busineess area. This paper introduces the architecture, hardware/software structure, and features of a 51.84 Mbps Passive Optical Subscriber Loop System. |
