英文摘要 | As an art form, embroidery painting combines embroidery and painting and calligraphy. it has decorative and practical uses while some embroidery paintings are collected for its own artistic value. Such combination is a distinctive form of craftsmanship. This paper analyzes the White Satin Curtain with Color Embroidery in the NMH collection. This is a work from the late period of Gu embroidery, its subject taken from the folk story of Romance of the West Chamber. From this piece of embroidery, we see how painting, embroidery, and classical literature can be integrated together into an exquisite work of art. |
