英文摘要 | This paper aims to explain the establishment and operation of gift shops in government-run museums by using the gift shop in Gold Museum, New Taipei City Government as an example. The ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums prepared by the International Council of Museums stipulates that all commercial activities at museums need to conform to all applicable laws and regulations, maintain product quality and agree with the educational mission of museums. Therefore the establishment and operation of the gift shop in the Gold Museum has a core value of realization of the purpose of the Gold Museum. It hopes to extend the educational experience beyond the museum, to promote cultural and creative industries, and to grow and thrive with the community. The preface of the essay is an introduction to the background and the purpose of the Gold Museum. The second section explains execution and operation of the gift shop business in the museum. The third to the fifth section illustrate the gift shop's positioning, preparations, and daily operational matters. The sixth section briefly describes the general situation of the shop's operation, its challenges, and the author's suggestions for independently-operated gift shops in government-run museums. |
