中文摘要 | 隨著E世代的來臨,電子郵件往來日益頻繁,英文寫作的重要性與日俱增,提升學生的英文寫作能力是當務之急。本研究的目的是將學生作文透過語料之分析,可以使教師對學習者的學習情況更了解,使語言的學習更有系統,讓學習者有更明確的依據,也較能符合學習者個別差異。本研究的方法是以輔英科技大學五專部英文作文比賽之作品,建立兩個語料庫,分別為應外科組及非應外科組,共有五十篇英文作文。經由軟體(Wordsmith)分析後,對學習者字彙量有進一步的了解,以協助學生增進字彙量及提升寫作能力。研究結果發現,應外科學生英文作文字彙量接近2000,而非應外科學生則遠不及2000。字彙量不足是語言學習的主要障礙,英語文教師應熟悉語料的定義、種類,學會使用語料庫軟體來建立語料庫,並根據學生需求及英文能力來設計適合的課程。專業技術的培養、語料庫的應用與推廣,以及心理層面的接受度,都是未來語言課程的新趨勢。在全球化時代中,以語料庫為基礎的英語課程,將是技職英語課程的主流。 |
英文摘要 | With the dawning of the electronic age, e-mailing is becoming the main communicative method in this global village. Writing is becoming much more important than in the past few decades. The purpose of this study is to analyze college students’ written language corpus to help them increase their vocabulary size and then improve their language proficiency. A total of fifty junior college students participated in this study at Fooyin University. Fifty participants’ compositions were analyzed through computer software “Wordsmith” by the researcher. Sixteen of them were written by English-major students and thirty four were written by students of the nursing department. Results of the study showed that their vocabulary size is very limited. The English major participants’ vocabulary size is around 2000 words. The non-English major participants’ vocabulary size is far below 2000 words. Corpus building and data driven learning will be the new trend for second- language learning, including general English, academic English, and also ESP courses. |
