| 英文摘要 | Chijiiwa Suketarou's researches on the houses of the indigenous people in Taiwan began in 1936 when the researches received grants from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). That time was just the best period of the Taiwan Sotokufu's (the Japanese government in Taiwan) implementation of the promotion of the improvement of indigenous people's houses. Chijiiwa indicated in his work that his own research motivation just came from a worry that seeing the changes of these houses, the traditional houses might disappear. Therefore, he recorded and investigated the houses. The target of this study focuses on the Amis houses. On one hand, by reviewing the investigation left by Chijiiwa and the relevant literatures and references at that time etc., we sorted out the appearances of the Amis transitional houses. On the other hand, through interactive analyses of the author's own fieldwork (including architectural survey drawings), and data from oral interviews, we attempted to point out the evolution of the Amis houses. The emphasis of this thesis is on the forms of plan and construction of the Amis "ameliorated house". Also, we compared the process of house changes of the Xiugulauan Amis and East Coast Amis. The Amis "ameliorated house" contains the architectural forms of diverse ethnic groups. The Japanese policy proposed to divide the Amis traditional one room plan into three parts: a living room in the middle and two bedrooms on the sides. Therefore, the plan types of the two different regions were converged to a same type, the "three parts plan", which was influenced by the plan pattern of Han people. However, in the concept of space, it otherwise retains the traditional Amis concept that "the right side is preferred". As for the construction, various forms appear according to different regions. The "column and tie construction" in the Xiugulauan Amis region reflects that this region have been influenced by the culture of Han people since early times, while the restoration of the "strut and bean construction" and "multi-rooms and gable-entrance type" plans in the East Coast Amis region validates the continuation of traditional houses investigated by Chijiiwa. Therefore, although "ameliorated houses" was in the ruler's official policies in the Japanese governence, it showed the diversity of the Taiwanese architectural culture, and reflected the indigenous people's practical style when they accepted foreign cultures. Changes in architecture were not only shown in the forms, they were also closely associated with the society and culture of the indigenous people. |
