| 英文摘要 | In this article is seen on Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764) was one of the most important theorists in the history of music. There was some room for discussion on music theories before Rameau or from the same period, however who was the first person to apply ratio systemization to chord progression on the path from composer to theorist. He also implemented previous concepts of pure theory into practical interpretations. His main arguments included:1. The original material of music is chord and not just single pitch or melody.2. Major chord is naturally generated from the two, three, four, and five equal portions of a string.3. In an octave, the chord can be established with a third interval and then expanded to seventh chord, ninth chord and eleventh chord, while each chord contains a feasibility of inversion.4. The chord function of tonic triad, dominant and subdominant is used to receive the theory of modulation.Additionally, Rameau established melodic minor scale and was the greatest composer in the history of French musical theater following complemented the deficiencies in early France with richer sounds, broader modulation, more vivid and dramatic performance, and larger orchestras than Lully to improve his works. History is the footprint traced by predecessors and modem people in joint efforts, and although history will disappear, what has been refined within and even discourses with influential values to this world would dominate the time tunnel that merits exploration.Rameau has been addressed as the ”Father of Harmony” not only because he absorbed the books and ideas of predecessors but because he also integrated his research efforts. As a theorist, the fundamental theory of tonality built by Rameau became the foundation to Western music for the next two centuries and he contributed with lasting merits. |
