中文摘要 | 朱子哲學之定位至今仍爭訟不已,要為朱子哲學作定位,必先釐清朱子哲學之內涵,本文嘗試從朱子本體論的「理」上作論析,又因朱子的「理」仍是複雜多端,故本文先從「理」之外在屬性中,有關義理分際者作論述;這些屬性包括:是否可認識、形上或形下、理一或理多、活動或但理。希望透過此等外在屬性之論述,能更清晰把握朱子「理」之內涵,並由此而有助於朱子哲學份位的確定。經本論文之論析,得知:朱子之「理」,乃指外在事物之理,或吾人所應遵守的道德律則,它雖「不可言」但非絕對地不可言,而是相較於有形世界的存在物之非具體,而謂其「難於言、不易言、言不盡」之意。這種「理」若就傳統哲人言,仍屬形下界,因其仍在凡人心識所能把握之範疇中。若就「理」的一或多言,此種理是殊多的,雖可說「理一」,但此種「一」是虛說,它是含括所有理之總名。當然就某一小範疇內之事物,可綜攝出理來或透過實踐而豁然貫通此等「理」,但仍限於小範圍乃有綜攝與貫通之可能。最後,這種「理」因屬事物、客觀、外在、律則之理,故本身雖存在,但並無活動力;此便是本文經由分析探索朱子理之外在屬性所得出之結論。 |
英文摘要 | The orientation of Zhu Zi's philosophy continues to create controversy. In order to clarify the content of Zhu Zi's study, this study attempts to analyze the "principle" in Zhu Zi's ontology. Because Zhu Zi's "principle" remains complex and variegated, this study first descries the external characteristics of "principle" that concern the distinction between meaning and principle. These characteristics include: whether it is knowable, metaphysics or physics, unitary principle or multiple principle, and action or pure principle. It is hoped that through discourse on these external characteristics, there can be a better grasp on the content of Zhu Zi's "principle," which would in turn help ascertain the philosophical position of Zhu Zi. After discourse of this paper, it is known that: Zhu Zi's "principle" refers to the principle of external things and events, or refers to the moral precepts that we should follow. Even though it "cannot be said," it is not absolutely unspeakable, but rather compared to the objects in the tangible world, it is not concrete; thus it is "difficult to say, hard to describe, and cannot be fully spoken." For traditional philosophers, this type of "principle" is still physical, because it can still be in the realm of what ordinary people can grasp. As for whether it is unitary or multiple, this type of "principle" is multiple. Even though it can be said to be a "unitary principle," but the "unitary" is abstract, and is the general name for all principle. Of course, for things and events within a small field, it is possible to deduce principle or to understand such "principle" through practice, but it is still limited to a possibility of being deduced or understood in a small field. Finally, since such "principle" belongs to the principle of objects and events, objective, and external, although it exists on its own, but it cannot act. These are the external characteristics of Zhu Zi's principle, derived upon analysis. |
