| 英文摘要 | Independent Living Program (ILP) is the last option to place children & adolescents outside their families after the intervention of family reconstruction and preservation services. It means that after a series of disturbing and unstable foster or institutional service, the authorities determine the adolescents whose biological families and relatives still unable to meet their developmental needs have to face the situational challenges to live independently again. The purpose of ILP is to help arrange these adolescents their current lives and then get adapted for social life when they enter their early adulthood. The theme of this article is to discuss the implications of the contrast between adolescents’ relationships with professionals and their peers in the placement environment and the plans for ILP they present from the experience they get in becoming independent from institutional agencies, based on the preparations for independence during placement under current service structures and the phases of life adaption after becoming independent through the concept of the “Pan-familism”. On the other hand, by reviewing concept of “self-supporting”, here we correspond to the ideas and implications under eastern and western cultures to present the differences between individual-oriented and social-oriented means of becoming independent. From the nature of adolescents’ independent living, we wish to correspond to the question of “What is the definition of Independent Living?” and to inspire the ideas inspired by “the experiences of the pan-familism of Chinese under institutional circumstances” in planning service components of the program. Furthermore, to develop a mature ILP under the current domestic context that sequenced from western culture will emphasize the local implications on the program core concepts more and to draw the initial service plans that correspond to local needs and cultural differences. |
