中文摘要 | 本質性研究的目的在探討台中市某科技大學之二技護理系學生在照護瀕死病患時的經驗,透過立意取樣針對二技護理系八位護生以半結構訪談指引進行資料收集,研究結果歸納出四個主要概念:(1)、面對死亡時的糾結:面對病患死亡時的衝擊、壓抑內心真實感受、忌諱談論死亡;(2)、面對家屬時的複雜情緒:面對家屬時不知所措、不捨、遺憾;(3)、協助走過生命的難關:與病人討論身後事、希望病患善終、親手送病患最後一程;(4)、轉變自我感謝他人:自我調適、與人分享、感謝指導者的支持、對生死觀的省思;研究結果顯示護生面對死亡當下各種情緒與感受是多樣化的,心理衝擊來自害怕、悲傷、挫折以及焦慮,然而在經歷死亡事件過程中也出現因應調適的反應,對生死有所體悟及省思。此結果能提供護理教育者針對護理系學生面對死亡議題時能多給予關注及輔導,在死亡教育的相關課程中多以案例演練以加強護生在照護瀕死病人時的實務技能,使具備自信並面對死亡過程。 |
英文摘要 | The purpose of this qualitative study was to examine the experiences of nursing students caring for dying patients. The participants for this study consist of 8 nursing students recruited through purposive sampling. The investigator used semi-structured interviews to collect nursing students´ experience when confronted with death. Four major themes emerged regarding student experiences: (a) emotional reactions when faced with death, (b) helping patients and family through difficult times, (c) helping patients to confront the topic of death, and helping them through their final days, and (d) learning to appreciate & thank others more. Data analysis revealed students´ experiences to be varied while caring for dying patients. Nursing students experienced an array of emotions such as fear, sadness, frustration, anxiety and of how to cope with these emotions. Preparing students to be comfortable with dying patients throughout the dying process will provide students with the necessary skills to gain confidence in hospice care. Educational strategies for preparing nursing students to care for the dying are addressed based on the findings of this qualitative study. |
