英文摘要 | Taiwan is a small island but crowding with people. In order to maximize the utility of natural setting, the common situations are that many recreation activities share the same area. A theoretical model was adapted to understand both the recreationists' appraisal of conflict situations and the recreationists' response to these situations. To approach this understanding, recreation conflicts were defined as stress-producing hassles encountered during the outdoor recreation experience. A psychosocial stress/coping model was adapted for the recreation context. The population of this study was walkers to the Tiger Mountain Rock Area in Chang-hua County on the period through March to July, 2006. Total 150 subjects were collected from on-site and mailing questionnaire surveys. The results through Chi-square Test, T-test and Logistic Regression were shown as follows: (1) The types of conflict group were partially related to the conflict types and the degree of conflict perceptions. Moreover, the interpersonal conflict was the major determinant of conflict. (2) In face of conflicts happened in in-group or out-group status, some of emotion-focused or problem-focused coping behaviors were significantly different between the types of recreation conflict. That is, the degree of coping behaviors adoption were significantly higher while conflicts from social value than interpersonal conflict (3)In terms of the activity characteristics, the frequency of participating activity was the most significant independent variable to identify whether emotion-focused or problem-focused coping behaviors would be adopted. Implications and application were drawn for recreation management strategies. |
