中文摘要 | 本研究主要針對3~5歲的學齡前兒童,透過觀察他們從六種不同類型的臺灣野生動物圖卡中(針對外形、顏色及大小三個變項),個別挑選出所喜好與厭惡的物種,以初步瞭解認知前期幼童對於不同動物類型的視覺感受。本研究採幼兒行為觀察中之「敘事描述法」進行資料收集與記錄,共取得275份有效問卷。結果發現,幼童偏好的動物外形以昆蟲類居多,顏色傾向淡藍色,大小偏好大型哺乳類;不喜歡的動物則以爬蟲類為首,其原因多認為「牠會咬人、很可怕」等。另外,受試者因個人屬性不同(包括觀察地點、年齡、性別及性格),對於動物外形、顏色及大小所表現的偏好具有顯著差異。最後,本研究建議當的長與幼童分享自然經驗時,應儘可能成少負面的外在(或言詞)表現(如感到驚恐失措、把蛇打死、說蛇會咬死人、蛇很可怕等),以事實陳述方式引導幼童建立愛護野生動物的正向態度。 |
英文摘要 | This study was designed to observe visual preferences of age 3-5 preschoolers who were shown six well-designed picture cards on different species of Taiwan wildlife. Three variables of feature, color, and size were incorporated in to the cards. The study was a preliminary effort to understand visual perceptions held by children in regard to animals in Taiwan. The study utilized "Narrative Descriptions" as the method to observe and record the young children's behavior. Two hundred and seventy-five questionnaires were analyzed. Results of the study revealed that most children preferred insect features, light blue color, and mammal size. Reptiles were most disliked, and most children thought "it would bite people" or "it looks terrible". In addition, due to the distinct attributes (including location, age, gender, and disposition) applied to the subjects, so that their visual preferences in terms of the animals' features, colors, and sizes were significantly different. Finally, this study suggested that schoolteachers or parents should avoid using negative connotations while sharing a sense of nature with young kids. The study further concludes that environmental education practices for improving childhood attitudes toward wildlife concern should be developed. |
