中文摘要 | Formocresol在1930年被提出後便廣泛的被應用在乳牙斷髓治療中,但是針對其潛在的毒性及致癌性質一直是一大隱憂。隨著材料學的進步,越來越多物質被提出來取代Formocresol,Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA)便是其中之一。MTA由於具有良好的密封能力及促進細胞再生的潛能,因而可能成為未來乳牙斷髓治療的新選擇。本研究的目的即是比較gray MTA與diluted formocresol (20% FC)用於乳臼齒斷髓治療的結果。經過21個月的追蹤,所有MTA組在臨床和放射線檢查評估皆為成功,而FC組(5%)在第9個月追蹤時出現膿腫及牙根外吸收的現象。實驗結果的分析證實MTA可作為為乳牙斷髓治療的選擇之一。 |
英文摘要 | Formocresol has been a popular pulpotomy medicament in primary dentition for the past 70 years, but concerns about its toxicity and potential carcinogenicity have arisen recently. Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), which has shown immense potential for regeneration and excellent sealing ability, was foreseen to be a better substitute for pulpotomy than formocresol. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of gray MTA and diluted formocresol (20%) as pulp dressing agents in pulpotomized primary molars. Result 90 teeth (80.3%) of 54 children were arrived for follow-up. The follow-up time is from 3 months to 21 months. All the teeth treated in the MTA group were clinically and radiographically successful at all follow-up appointments. One tooth (5%) in the FC group had abscess and external root resorption after 9 months postoperatively. No early exfoliation was noted throughout the follow-up period Conclusion According to the present study, Mineral trioxide aggregate could be used as a safe medicament for pulpotomy in cariously exposed primary molars and could be a substitute for Formocresol. But further investigation with longer evaluation period are still necessary in the future. |
