英文摘要 | A new design method of the wing airfoil, which combines the Golden Ratio with the Kutta-Zhukovsky transformation, is developed. It is found that different Golden Ratio airfoils can be obtained by setting different camber factors (β) and thickness chord ratios (t/c). In this paper, two Golden Ratio airfoils are chosen to explore their aerodynamic characteristics and to make a comparison with the aerodynamic characteristics of the Clark-Y airfoil. The results obtained from FLUENT show that the Golden Ratio airfoils have larger lift coefficients and higher ratios of lift to drag than the Clark-Y airfoil. These data indicate that the Golden Ratio airfoils have a lower stalling speed and a better climbing performance than the Clark-Y airfoil. In addition, it is also found that the Golden Ratio airfoils have a flatter pressure coefficient curve near the leading edge and a later flow separation point at the stalling angle of attack, compared to the Clark-Y airfoil, which shows that Golden Ratio airfoils have better flow characteristics than the Clark-Y airfoil at high angle of attack. These aerodynamic characteristics of the Golden Ratio airfoils may provide a good flight performance for light aircraft at low speed. |
