中文摘要 | 英語授課在高等教育國際化過程中扮演一個重要的角色,因為英語授課可提升教師與學生在國際間的流動力(mobility),增加學術動能。近年來政府持續鼓勵國內大學以英語授課,但在目前資源短缺及缺乏全面規畫下,英語授課似乎未能達到協助高等教育國際化的目的。因此本論文的目的在於探討在國際化需求下,以英語授課在國內所面臨之困難。首先探討國際化的目的,及其與英語授課的關係,並以國、內外相關文獻為本,進而探討英語授課的困難及可能之因應方法。 |
英文摘要 | English-medium teaching plays an important role in the process of internationalizing higher education, because it helps to facilitate the mobility of students and teachers. However, the shortage of resources and lack of planning existed in the higher institutions in Taiwan seem to impair the effectiveness of English-medium teaching in the due process. The purpose of the paper is to present the challenges of English-medium teaching in Taiwan in relation of internationalization of higher education. The paper is divided into four parts. It begins with the discussion of the purposes of internationalization of higher education. The second part of the paper examines the relationship between English-medium teaching and internationalization of higher education. The third part presents the literature concerning English-medium teaching and summarizes the challenges of English-medium teaching based on the findings of the literature. Finally, the paper explores possible approaches for addressing the raised concerns. |
