英文摘要 | The modern desalting requirements include not only the reduction of corrosion and fouling in the crude distillation unit, but also the use of low quality crude oils and the protection of catalysts of resid conversion processes. In addition, it also requires to meet the more stringent environmental regulations in water discharge quality. Improvements in the design and operation of desalters and new chemical treatment programs have been required to meet these new requirements. In this paper, the study results concerning the troubleshooting and improving of the desalter operation and aqueous corrosion in a crude unit were reported. The desalting efficiency was increased from 53.7% to 74.5%. The corrosion of TPA (Top Pump Around) pump and the failure of overhead coupon were also improved. Because the dehydration efficiency of the desalter is inferior to that of other similar type desalters, this causes the performance of the desalter less than expected, and therefore the equipment deficiencies of the desalter are also discussed. |
