中文摘要 | 本文旨在探究美國教育哲學家John Dewey (l859-1952) 於芝加哥大學期間創設實驗學校 (The Laboratory School, 1896-1904) 的教育理念。文中重點有四:1.簡述實驗學校短暫八年的歷史;2.說明Dewey設立實驗學校的目的在於透過理論與實踐的結合,累積教育學知識;3.以Dewey欲於實驗學校檢驗的心理學原則和欲於實驗學校達成的倫理學目標為主軸說明實驗學校的教育理念,並且論述手工活動在此中的定位,包括以手工活動作為個人與社會調和的媒介,並以手工活動作為實驗學校教育設計的核心;4.以台灣教育的立場出發闡發實驗學校之教育理念給予吾人的啟示。 |
英文摘要 | The aim of this article is to examine Dewey's ideas of the laboratory school which he established during his time at the University of Chicago. There are four parts in this article .The first part briefly describes the eight-year history of the laboratory school. The second illustrate that the aim of the laboratory school is to accumulate educational knowledge and principles by connecting theory and practice. The third part discusses the ideas of the laboratory school in terms of psychological principles and ethical aim, then it analyzes the occupations in Dewey's educational philosophy. Finally, the author reflects on the implications of these ideas from the perspective of education in Taiwan. |
