英文摘要 | Background and Purpose: Multiple studies support the clinical value of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) for the treatment of symptomatic urolithiasis. The HMT Lithotron LIT 170 is a fine modular, portable spark gap lithotriptor with an ellipsoid diameter of 200 mm and a focal zone dimension of 10×53 mm with 150 mm penetration; it can deliver 14-28 kV of power. We report our 6 years of experience with this lithotriptor for renal and ureteral calculi. Methods: A retrospective review of 2389 patients with urolithiasis treated with the HMT Lithotron LIT 170 lithotriptor from 2000 to 2005 was undertaken. Data were obtained for stone location, stone size, shockwave usage, the total success rate, and complications. Results: In total. 2389 patients were treated with this lithotriptor. Of these stones, 69.4% were located in the kidney, and 30.6% were confined to the ureter. Of the renal stones, 20.3% were in the renal pelvis, whereas upper, middle, and lower pole stones accounted for l9.3%, 26.9%, and 33.3%, respectively. Of ureteral stones, 58.6% were in the proximal ureter, compared with 23.3% and 18.1% in the middle and distal ureter, respectively. The majority (67.7%) of stones were less than 1 cm [in diameter?]. The average number of shocks applied was 2168. Average treatment time was 29.8 min. Of those patients that completed follow up, 89.6% achieved total success, with 68.8% being stone free and 20.8% having fragments of <0.3 cm [in diameter?]. The efficiency quotient was 0.62. Conclusions: Treatment of renal and/or ureteral stones in selected patients with the HMT Lithotron LIT 170 lithotriptor is appropriate. The total success rate and efficiency quotient were consistent with those of other available lithotriptors. |
