英文摘要 | The denture base resin has been one of themost commonly used materials in fabrication ofremovable partial dentures. It has been widely dis-cussed which method can obtain an accurate, time-saving, and cheap polymerized denture base resin.Traditionally, the water bath method was used. Themain disadvatages of water bath method were time-consuming, expensive equipment, and not a cleanmethod. Japan dentists developed the method ofusing microwave oven for polymerizing denturebase resin about 20 years ago. The method of using microwave oven in polymerized denture resin hasadvantages of being time-saving, accurate, andclean. The purpose of this article was to review thedevelopment of microwave method and to comparethe difference in characteristics of denture baseresin between traditional water bath method andmicrowave method. The conclusion is that there isno significant difference between physical properties of traditional water bath method and microwavemethod. |
