英文摘要 | Telecommunications are an increasingly critical component of economic growth, the engine of the evolving global information society. Telecommunications reforms worldwide have been dominated by three trends: privatization, competition and deregulation. These changes are driving forces of market liberalization that has brought new companies into the market, introducing competition and market-oriented practices. Consequently, pricing structures have changed, innovatie technologies have been developed and entrepreneurial business introduced. By introducing the new Telecommunications Act, the Taiwanese authorities have provided the market with a platform for privatization and globalization. This change has brought domestic teleco's operators in direct competition with domestic and world-class players. As a result, domestic teleco's operators has to undergo constant restructuring to remain a leader in today's fast-paced market. The key to successful adaptation lies upon domestic teleco's strength to stay competitive while controlling cost. Additionally, a genuine understanding of the current market and future trend should help shed some light on domestic teleco's approach to strategic planning and real-time restructuring. |
