中文摘要 | 本研究之目的為探討試題型態對臺灣的大學生於英語口語測驗表現之影響。主要的研究問題分別是:(1)受測學生於英語口語測驗中,各種是提型態之表現是否有顯著差異?(2)受測者於不同試題型態之言談表現的正確度、複雜度、及流暢度是否有顯著差異?(3)受測者對於不同型態的英語口語測驗試題之觀感為何?本研究的受測對象將為45位就讀臺灣某大學的大一學生,他們的口語能力將根據大一上學期「英語聽講練習」課的學期成績。本研究採用的試題型態包括回答問題、看圖敘述、及申述。受測者將在語言實驗室接受英語口語測驗,並將回答錄在錄音帶中。在完成口語測驗後,受測者將回答一份問卷,藉以了解他們對這三種口語測驗試題之情意反應。受測者的作答錄音帶將由兩位受過口語評分訓練的外籍教師各自獨立評分。此外,錄音帶內容也將由研究助理加以謄寫,以便進行分析正確度、複雜度、及流暢度之分析。本研究之結果可提供外語口語評量試題之成效的實驗性證據,及編製英語口語能力測驗的一些啟示。 |
英文摘要 | The purpose of the present study is to investigate the effect of task type on the performance of Taiwanese college students of EFL speaking tests. The major research questions explored in the study include (1) Will test takers perform differently on various task types in EFL speaking tests? (2) Are there any differences in the accuracy, complexity, and fluency of test takers' discourse in terms of different task types? (3) What are test takers' perceptions toward the three speaking tasks? The subjects in the study were 30 students majoring in English at a university in Taiwan. The three task types adopted in the study consisted of answering questions, picture description, and presentation. The subjects were tests in a language-lab setting and responded on an audiotape. After completing the speaking test, the subjects answered a questionnaire designed to elicit their affective reactions toward the three tasks. The tapes were scored independently by two native speaker English teachers. The taped protocols were also transcribed for the analysis of accuracy, complexity, and fluency. The results of the study can provide empirical evidence for the effects of L2 speaking assessment tasks. The results are also expected to offer some implications for the design of EFL speaking tests. |
