英文摘要 | Tai-Chi Chuan is well known for its physical benefits, especially when viewed as a form of exercise. However, like music, Tai-Chi Chuan is also an art form, and has as much to do with the mind as it does with the body. Hence Tai-Chi Chuan has proved to be an ideal way in understanding the process of music-making. Being able to play music satisfactorily requires a solid foundation. Unfortunately, a significant number of music students lack adequate understanding of their own bodies, resulting in injuries that not only diminish the confidence but in the worst case may lead to termination of a musical career. The body is an universe in itself. Successful music-making is possible only through the awareness of this universe. Tai-Chi Chuan builds such awareness from the most basic of body movements to the most far-reaching ideals (as in a musical "perfection"). This article explores the common traits between Tai-Chi Chuan and music, as well as Tai-Chi's applications on treating musical injuries. |
