中文摘要 | 筆記法是否能增進英語爲外國語言學習者的聽力理解力極具爭議。一些學者認爲學生單字量的缺乏,是有效做筆記時所面臨的最大困難。此外,做筆記會導致學生分心,因爲學生花太多時間在逐字做筆記上,而非在聽力理解上。然而,有些學者指出,透過做筆記的過程,學生可以從不同方面學習,進而提升其聽力理解力,例如做筆記可使學生專注於聽力內容,以及學生較容易記得教材內容。由於現今筆記法之議題仍具爭議性,因此本論文旨在探討學生對筆記法的看法,以及分析做筆記是否能幫助英語爲外語的大學生增進其聽力能力。本論文藉由採用半標準化技巧(semi-standardized),個別訪問15位英語爲外語的大學生。本研究結果顯示,做筆記不但不會使學生分心,學生反而會更專注於教材內容。本研究成果,可建議英語爲外國語言之教師如何有效地運用筆記法策略,以提升學生的聽力理解力。 |
英文摘要 | Research on note-taking has generated debates centering on whether note-taking results in improved student performance on listening comprehension. Some researchers concern that lack of vocabulary capacity is the main barrier for students to take notes effectively; in addition, it may distract students from their listening because of spending too much time in verbatim note-taking. However, there are still some scholars who point out that through the process of note-taking, students can improve their listening comprehension from different angles, such as enhancing recall and paying more attention to the listening text. Since the issue of note-taking is still controversial nowadays, the purpose of this study was to explore students' perceptions of note-taking and analyze the impact of note-taking on students' foreign language listening comprehension. Fifteen university EFL students were interviewed individually by using the semi-standardized technique. The major finding indicates that taking notes did not distract students from their listening process; instead, they even paid more attention to the text. Instructional implications for EFL educators to effectively apply the note-taking strategy to enhance students' listening comprehension are presented. |
