中文摘要 | 1980年代中期以來,以買者驅動商品鏈為主的分工究竟發生何種變革?本文藉由一個具有台灣背景,卻在香港設立總部以投資中國並進一步達成全球生產布局的個案,探討1980年代末期,全球商品鏈重新再分工的過程。經驗上,本文整理出台商全球化之行動模式,說明台灣企業如何利用「台資港商」的戰略位置,結合金融與工業資本,組織區域資源以供應全球品牌買者,終使這家過去之中小型代工廠發展成為今日之全球最大運動鞋供應商。理論而言,本文指出在現今國際分工的現實下,國家繼續引導發展的困難,此外也針對全球商品鏈的支配關係提出反省。 |
英文摘要 | Whilst many studies have focused on how Taiwanese firms relocate their production operations abroad in order to maintain their positions in the respective production chains, few examine how the organization of overseas production is operated. Based on an in-depth case study of a Taiwanese enterprise with its headquarters in Hong Kong, this article hopes to highlight a business pattern of Taiwanese corporations going global in the context of reshaping their global commodity production chains. Due to the cross-Straits political tension, Taiwanese businessmen use Hong Kong for the strategic management of their outward investment in China. Through this organizational re-adjustment, Taiwanese firms have not only consolidated their status in the buyer-driven type of global commodity production chains, but have also helped to push for changes in China. Theoretically, despite the fact that buyers drive the production chains, the suppliers’ power over production as well as the entry into the China market have already loosened the former corporate governance structure. The way in which Taiwanese capital moves also implies the weakening of the developmental state in Taiwan. |
