中文摘要 | 在提供光纖網路到家的網路技術當中,以乙太交換器和乙太光電轉換設備這類主動式系統發展時間較早,標準及產品也較為成熟,是現階段做為光纖到家網路建置及提供服務的主要技術。然而,由於被動式光纖網路系統(PON, Passive Optical Network)相較於主動式光纖網路系統具有成本低、穩定性高以及網路規劃設計彈性佳等優勢,因此在技術上被視為深具潛力,可望成為未來提供光纖到家寬頻接取的主流技術。 由於被動式光纖接取技術仍處於快速發展中,目前在應用方面,BPON(Broadband Passive Optical Network)與EPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network)是現階段的技術主流。而BPON則因為技術上的限制,未來將由GPON(Gigabit Passive Optical Network)予以取代。決定一項網路技術是否可成功,評斷的方向不僅止於該技術是否具備良好的服務提供能力,其它還應包括網路使用效率以及提供服務之後的安全性以及種種的維運機制等。因此,本文即從上述的立論出發,針對最具發展潛力的EPON與GPON兩項技術,從技術的觀點,個別對網路營運所需之議題進行深入的探討與比較分析。 |
英文摘要 | Today, most of the operating FTTH system in the world is xo-called active optical network (AON). The AON products such as Ethernet switch and Ethernet media converter are developed earlier and have more completed standard as compare to the passive optical networks (PON). However, since PON have some important advantages like low construction cost, reliability, flexibility and so on, thus it is hoped to play an important role for the deployment of FTTH networks in the future. Until now, the PON technology is still under development, although some PON systems, such as BPON and EPON have proceeded with their field deployment in America and Asia. As the first generation of PON technology, BPON do have some implementation bottlenecks in the extension of bandwidth, therefore, a new standard called GPON is developed by ITU. From carrier’s point of view, before a new technology adopted by them, a lot of operating requirement should be re-checked. In their process, not only the service capability but also the network efficiency, security, operation, administration and maintenance capabilities, will be evaluated. In this thesis, we will focus on the issues mentioned above and give a technical analysis and comparison for EPON and GPON technologies. |
