| 英文摘要 | Taiyal culture has been influenced by dominated hegemony in modern history of Taiwan. The diverse features of the traditional aborigine's culture were progressively disappeared and replaced by the dominated culture. The Japanese "Aborigine Colony" policy (1910-45) was first enforced in the tribe of Taiyal, the new style of the modern education was replacing the traditional education of the Taiyal. In order to exalt the Japanese dominated culture and value, the traditional Taiyal culture had gradually lost its support. It was unable to fuse itself to the modern social activities. Before the year of 1895, Japanese took over Taiwan through the treaty of Ma Guan, Taiyal tribe was nearly stateless. In spite of living habits and daily activities, everything was at the very basic state of the traditional level. At the early stage of governing Taiwan, Puli was taken as the boundary between the north and the south. The tribe at the south are known as more obedient, and the tribe of the north are known as disobedient and uncivilized. This study examines both the traditional cultural features of "Taiyal" (including Taiyal and Sediq) and its managing under the Japanese domination. In sum, it is important to understand the mechanism of transformation and alienation of the Taiyal culture and it also has raised some debates between the cultural values of Taiyal and dominated hegemony during the Japanese colonial era |
