中文摘要 | 本研究以臺灣六所大學院校中504名設計系所學生為例,檢驗這些學生多元人格特質的交互作用對其想像力的預測力。研究結果發現,外向特質僅能預測創始想像,審慎特質僅能預測構思想像,開放經驗和神經質兩項特質均能預測三類想像,而和諧特質則能預測構思和轉造想像。本研究結果亦顯示,神經質和外向兩項特質的交互作用能顯著地影響創始想像,此一調節效果對低度神經質的學生特別有益。神經質與和諧兩項特質的交互作用則會影響構思和轉造想像,此一調節效果亦特別顯見在低度神經質的學生上。開放經驗和審慎兩項特質的交互作用亦能影響設計系所學生的創始想像,而此調節效果尤其會對具有高度審慎特質的學生產生效用。 |
英文摘要 | Previous studies have indicated that imaginative capabilities and personality traits are the key sources of exceptional performance of designers. In this study, design majors were examined to determine how diverse personality traits interact to affect student imaginative capabilities. We collected data from 6 universities across Taiwan, involving 504 design majors as the study participants. The results revealed that extraversion predicted only initiating imagination, whereas conscientiousness (CO) predicted only conceiving imagination. Both openness and neuroticism (NE) predicted all three types of imaginative capability, whereas agreeableness predicted both conceiving and transforming imagination. The data also indicated that NE moderated the effects of extraversion on initiating imagination, and this moderating effect particularly aiding low-NE student designers. NE also moderated the effects of agreeableness on both conceiving and transforming imagination. The conceiving and transforming imagination of low-NE students increased faster in response to agreeableness than did those of high-NE students. Moreover, the initiating imagination of high-CO students increased faster in response to openness than did that of low-CO students. |
