英文摘要 | Seeds of etiolated, self-blanching type celery ("late" variety cultivated in Taiwan) were primed with PEG 6000, water potential from -0.7MPa to -1.0MPa, at 20℃ conditions for 6-8 days. Several items of the germination (such as germination rate, average days of germination, germination coefficient of germination vigor, days of the 60% germination etc.) were compared between primed seeds and untreated seeds the conclusions were as follow: 1.PEG 6000 priming could obviously pronote germination rate and germination percentage, the germination rate of priming seed were 10-20% higher than the untreated seeds. For the average days of germination, priming seed are 4-5 days faster than untreated seeds. the time of germination could be reduced 48-60%. The germination coefficient of germination vigor was 7-16 seeds per day higher than the untreated seeds, and the efficiency of germination could be improved and increased 108-224%. Most priming seed had significant increased in germination rate, average days of germination, germination coefficient of germination vigor and days of the 90% germination rate etc. than the untreated seeds. 2.The total germination rate of priming seed was 72.0-93.7%, the untreated seeds was 70.6% calculated by the total seeds germinated, 50% germination of priming seed took 2.8-3.0 days, but the untreated seeds needed 8.7 days. While 90% germination of priming seed needed 5.0-9.0 days, but the untreated seeds needed 12.5 days. 3.Celery seeds primed by PEG 6000 with four water potential (-0.7MPa, -0.8MPa, -0.9MPa and -1.0MPa) and three treatment duration (6, 7and 8 days) and showed that four water potential treatments had significant difference in total germination rate, average day of germination, and days of 10% and 50% germination. Three duration of priming treatments had significant difference in all treatments. The interaction of water potential and treatment duration had no significant difference only in the average days of germination, but had significant difference in all other items. 4.The effect of seed priming seed could be evaluated by in germination rate, average days of germination, germination coefficient of germination vigor, days on the germination rate reach 10%、50%、60% etc. The best effects of at all the treatments (PEG 6000, at 20℃) are shown as (1) water potential -0.7MPa conditioned for 7-8 days. (2) water potential -0.8MPa conditioned for 8 days. (3) water potential -0.9MPa conditioned for 8 days. and (4) water potential -1.0MPa conditioned for 6-8 days etc. |
