英文摘要 | Hwang-Long Pan is an important composer in Taiwan nowadays. Also, he has established a reputation as a contemporary musician internationally. His composing styles are based on western traditional trainings and avant-garde skills blended with the oriental philosophy. He consequently creates a distinctive style and the unique “sonic ideation”. The solo piano piece “Labyrinth-Promenade XII” is an aleatory work written between 1999 - 2000, and the 26 periods are named alphabetically. This essay begins with interpreting its particular meanings of the title “Labyrinth-Promenade XII” and the background of his creation. Then the musical context, elements, and original sonic ideas of the keyboard instruments will be analyzed. For the performers, before playing the first thing to do is to consider the periods arrangement including the principles written by the composer, and characteristics of the language. It's also important to pay attention to the order of varied sections including improvisation, extreme skills, and prepared-piano. In addition, the required techniques and acute artistic conception are certainly big challenges to pianists! |
