英文摘要 | “Photonic crystal is defined as periodic structure of dielectric material” Its fascinating and amazing electromagnetic properties have made it one of the most studied topics in the nano-optics related research fields in the last decade. In this article we explain the items including “Where does the idea of photonic crystal come from?”, “What is the underlying mechanisms for the various interesting properties of photonic crystal?”, and “Possible applications based on these properties.” Finally, we discuss what role should Taiwan play in the whole world concerning with photonic crystal researches in the future. |
