| 英文摘要 | In the Han dynasty, there was some public land in certain enclosed grounds for raising animals. The local authorities made government slaves farm the public land and took over all their harvest. The slips of account books of grain rations for slaves collected by the Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, were not private records but government administrative documents, and the slaves under every householder mentioned in these slips received their rations from the official granary or its branches. The men in charge of keeping and providing the rations of slaves were responsible to collect the harvest from the public land and turn it over to the assigned granaries, and they were probably direct monitors of the government slaves, but according to some evidence the monitors were themselves slaves too. The Han authorities administered the governement slaves in the same way as they registered the common people by household. |
