英文摘要 | The rise of the international airlines alliance has led to the enlargement of the participating airlines and a reduction in business costs. Fol1owing the 911 tragedy, the alliance has become a lifeline to avoiding a depression in the air transportation market, especial1y in the transatlantic air transport ation market and including airlines from Asia, Australia and South America. The Open Skies Agreements which have been advocated by the U.S. Government have resu1ted in a new model of competition in the air transportation market. The U.S. Department of Transportation and the Department of Justice are responsible for the antitrust exemption and its extension to the international airlines alliance. There are different viewpoints and analysis on the grounds of the diplomatic and economic advantages regarding the application of the competition regulations being taken into consideration. |
