中文摘要 | 老子所說的「道」是天地萬物的創始者。「道」之為物,目視之而不見,耳聽之而不聞,手搏之而不得,所以「道」是無形、無聲、無物的東西。不過,「道」自古及今都未曾改變,它處於存在和非存在的惚恍狀態之中,因此,迎之而不見其首,隨之而不見其後,老子稱它為「無狀之狀」、「無物之象」。所以說「道」永遠都處於人們的感覺、知覺以外的領域。老子主張「無為」之說,「無為」並不是「無作為」,反之,「道」是「常無為而無不為」的。老子認為人也必須依據這個原理,以「無為而為」的態度去從事一切事務就可以獲得成功。這個「道常無為而無不為」的命題所揭示出來的就是,無為即是大為、無用即是大用、無治即是大治、無爭即是大爭之意。因此,老子「道」的思想主要是在於內在清靜的修為,以及以沖虛、謙遜、退讓為自守的根據。如此才可以保持柔弱謙卑、天真浪漫的本性,而回復于純真、樸素的境界。 |
英文摘要 | All things spring from Dao. We look at it, and we do not see it; we listen to it, and we do not hear it; we try to grasp it, and we do not hold it. Dao is always formless, soundless and invisible. But Dao never changes from the ancient times to the present day and places in the fleeting and indeterminable conditions. We meet it and do not see its front; we follow it and do not see its back. The Dao in its regular course does nothing and so there it does everything. Because in the thought of the Dao, “does nothing” means “doing”; “useless” means “useful”; “non-governing” means “ governing”; “non-strive” means “strive for all.” Therefore, Lao-Zi is always humble and also empties his minds, so he could return to the condition of naivety and honesty. |
