中文摘要 | 即時性、可同步學習的網路教學系統雖已成熟,但是要建置一個適合技職大專學生英語補救教學的網路系統,仍為少見。鑑於臺灣技職大專學生英語文程度普遍低落,本研究旨在發展一個網路虛擬英語教學中心,研發輔助聽、說、讀、寫四種語言技能之各種網路學習工具及教學資源,提供作為南臺科技大學學生英語補救教學之用。此南臺科技大學虛擬英語補救教學中心,主要具備四個學習區:(1)課程學習與評量區,(2)學習討論區,(3)學習歷程紀錄區,以及(4)有用的英語學習相關網站與工具區。系統設計乃依據建構與情境學習理論,模擬在真實情境中,自然情況下所用到之聽、說、讀、寫能力。並由教材文章的領悟,逐步建立其背景知識,再以多元評量方式檢驗其所建立的背景知識。 本研究的結果將有助於未來臺灣技職校院網路虛擬英語教學中心的開發與課程設計,並嘗試以補救教學的方式,有效地發揮網路教學的功能,來改進臺灣技職大專學生英語文能力。同時,本計劃的實施,亦將有助於帶動更多的相關研究,以探討網路虛擬英語教學中心在技職校院英語補救教學中,實施的可行性及其所發揮的成效。 |
英文摘要 | In the light of the low-achievement of the majority of the students of vocational and technological universities on EFL proficiency tests, this research aims to develop a virtual EFL center at Southern Taiwan University of Technology, which offers a variety of learning resources and tools for four basic language skills as remedial instruction for vocational and technological university students with EFL learning difficulties. The virtual center consists of four major areas: (a) leaning and evaluation zone, (b) synchronous and asynchronous discussion board, (c) electronic portfolio construction, and (d) useful EFL learning links. The underlying design of the virtual EFL center are situation learning and constructive principles which encourage students to take the initiative in their own learning and allow teachers to build an individualized system to realize remedial instruction. It is hoped that this research will help EFL teachers at vocational and technological universities realize how to develop and make use of their own virtual EFL centers for remedial instruction on low a achievers in English proficiency. There is also an expectation that this virtual EFL center will encourage more EFL teachers at vocational and technological universities to develop more adaptive, useful, and interesting web-based learning material. |
