中文摘要 | 本篇論文提出一適用於嵌入式多媒體通訊之資源細緻調適控制機置之研究 (resource refinement adaptation control for embedded multimedia communications, R2AC) ,基本作法為考量嵌入式系統之運算能力與記憶體容量,結合利用MPEG-4 物件優先權觀念,並依網路頻寬變化進行調適控制切換多媒體影音服務品質,以提供平順之串流影音。R2AC 系統考量網路狀況,並針對客戶端之中央處理器與記憶體容量分別進行監控,將監控所得之資料透過回饋訊息告知伺服端與資源管理代理人以調整影片品質。若客戶端發生記憶體資源不足,則執行資源控管機置要求閒置之應用程式釋放所佔用之記憶體資源,以滿足其他應用程式之資源需求。此外R2AC 系統提供影片品質差異化播放控制機置 (quality-based differentiated presentation control) ,可以根據所設置之資源門檻值進而達到嵌入式系統之運算負載平衡 (workload balance) 。 |
英文摘要 | This paper proposes a Resource Refinement Adaptation Control (R2AC) for embedded multimedia communications. The fundamental control procedure of R2AC accounts for the limited computational capability and memory of the embedded system, and the MPEG-4 object priority. R2AC supports adaptation control and offers seamless steady multimedia streaming based on monitoring mobile network traffic and the computing resources of the client, including the status of the CPU and the memory. When the available resources are not sufficient, the client releases some unnecessary system processes to obtain more available memory and CPU computing resources for application. A quality-based differentiated presentation control mechanism is proposed to balance the workload of the embedded system based on resource threshold. |
