中文摘要 | 「本文研究首先指出 「科技轉向」及「文化轉向」之差異,繼而探討機器翻譯(MT)及翻譯記憶(TM)對於翻譯過程、翻譯教學及翻譯學研究之影響。受到科技轉向之影響,專業譯者已從精通語言的專家轉變成科技操作者,而翻譯過程從全面的人為操作轉變成人與電腦合作之關係。此外,專業翻譯品質之評估已從美麗雅俗的語言運用,轉變成精確訊息之傳遞及經濟效益之提升。翻譯的用途也從單一用途變成多元用途;另一方面,大學翻譯教師也是數位化學習活動之設計者;學生的角色也從被動的接收者,變成了主動的參與者。在純翻譯學研究中,產品導向、過程導向及功能導向的研究已加入各種科技考量;而在實際運用的翻譯領域中,翻譯者訓練、翻譯輔助工具、翻譯策略及翻譯評論均已產生某種程度之改變;這些變革證明了「科技轉向」已突破了傳統翻譯教學及翻譯學研究的疆界與限制。 |
英文摘要 | This essay, first of all, contrasted the concepts of“Technological Turn”and“Cultural Turn.”After that, the author explored the effects of Machine Translation (MT) and Translation Memory (TM) technologies upon the scenario of translation operation, the structure of translation teaching at universities and translation studies. This paper described the evolution of professional translators from linguistic masters to technological controllers, and the changes in the translation process from a strictly human operation to one in which humans and computers work together. This paper also discussed the change of professional translation assessment from aesthetic elegance to message accuracy and cost-effectiveness, and the change in translation purposes from single to multiple-functional uses of the end product. In addition, in the area of translation education at universities, this study explored the new role of translation instructors from lecturers to program designers, the new role of students from passive receivers to active participants. This study also explored how “Technological Turn” has brought some impacts on pure and applied translation studies. She concluded by arguing that“Technological Turn”expanded the boundaries of translation education and studies by informing alternative views and theories. |
