英文摘要 | Aerobic gymnastics is a competitive exercise with both characteristics of artistic gymnastics and traditional aerobics requiring good performing skills of athletes. The final score for a contestant is mainly composed of the sub-scores evaluating the art, execution and the difficulty level of the contestant's performance. To understand what is the emphasis for scoring athletes' performance in an aerobic gymnastics competition, a chi-square test of 2×2 contingency table was used in this study to analyze the independence between the final scores and each of three sub-scores for 13 male contestants participating in the preliminary of the 2005 First Asian Indoor Aerobics Gymnastics Games. One-way ANOVA was also adopted to examine the variance between the sub-cores of contestants stratified with the ranks of their final scores. The present results indicate that the contestants with high-level sub-cores for art, execution and difficulty are concordant with the contestants with high-level final scores. The artistic aspect of the contestant's entire exercise shall be the emphasis for judges in making judgment and also the most important factor in determining the level of the contestant's final score. If the medium-level contestants would like to improve their final scores, it might be important to improve the artistic of their entire exercise. In addition, the low-level contestants should improve the artistic level, execution and the difficulty level of their entire exercise to promote their final scores. This study shall be helpful for developing systematic and effective methods to train Taiwanese athletes doing the aerobic gymnastics. |
