中文摘要 | 「部落格」(blog)是網路上的新興活動,在西方先進國家如美國,快速席捲了網路世界;但是,在我國國內則尚屬起步階段。blog 是網站的一種,易於架設,其與一般網站不同之處包括:提供讀者張貼討論文章的互動空間、每一篇文章均烙記張貼時間日期、系統自動將最新的文章排列在最前面、舊的文章可以依設定的期限自動存入檔案櫃、系統提供搜尋blog 內的文章的功能、容易串連網站、可以搭配使用不同的軟體而擷取自己有興趣的blog 以及將自己blog 內的文章轉換為易於為搜尋引擎摘錄的格式等。國外的blog 使用族群範圍廣範,包括:學生、社會大眾、商業界、學術界等,在圖書館界的應用主要是作為消息佈告之用。但是,在國內方面,圖書館界較少有使用blog 於圖書館服務之例。本文旨在將國、內外的blog 作一概觀性的分析,進而介紹blog 的實務應用以及建置方面的相關考量,並進行討論與提出建議──除了討論blog 的相關議題之外,並建議政府學術機構應試著推動優質blog 文化及提供建置blog 軟體的服務與網站空間。本文的主要目的在於使國內教育界與學界重視blog 的潛在效用,進而善加利用,而裨益圖書館實務、教學之提升與社會風氣之導正。 |
英文摘要 | “BLOGGING” is a new activity in the World Wide Web. The number of blogs has increased tremendously in the past few years in other countries such as the United States. However, blogging is still at an early stage of development in Taiwan.“blogging” is one kind of website which is easy to establish and offers a discussion forum for its visitors. Each posting will be stamped with a date and time. The current postings will be automat-ically listed at the front, and the older postings will be stored in the archive according to the blog owner’s settings. Blogging software is compatible with certain software for the retrieval of article headings by subject, and for the conversion of the postings in the blog into RSS (Rich Site Summary) format so that they can be indexed by search engines. The technology of blogs has been widely implemented by students, commerce and schol-arly communities in some developed countries. The use of blogs in libraries of those countries is mostly for broadcasting news or new services. In Taiwan, few libraries have tried to apply this new technology in library services. To make the education and schol-arly communities become aware of the possible applications of blogs, this article is com-posed of the following sections: (1) introduction of the characteristics and history of blogs, (2) introduction of the terminology about blogs, (3) statistical analysis of the cur-rent development of blogs in other countries (4) current development of blogs in Taiwan, (5) implementation of blogs in practice, (6) considerations for establishing blogs for a library. The article also discusses some issues related to blogging and gives suggestions about how governmental institutions, academic and educational communities could help in establishing a good blogging culture for our society. It is believed that if we can utilize the new technology of blogging, we could upgrade the quality of our library services. |
