英文摘要 | This investigation was undretaken to explore the residual effects of rice hulls applied to sorghum field at a rate of 10 tons and 20 tons per hectare, respectively. Rice hull was spread over a sorghum field before planting, and the field was plowed, manured, puddled and mulch for the 1986 spring cultivation and for the ratoon cultivation of next crop. The experiment had a significant and favorable result. The rice hull plots showd a higher soil organice matter and soluble Si compared to the control. A sorghum plant analysis on leaf blades revealed that silicon uptake at the rice hull plot was higher than that at the check. An incease of 7% in grain yield showed the residual effect of the rice hull plot at a rate of 20 tons per hectare. Therefore, one application of rice hulls had a beneficial effect on more than two crops, due to the slow decomposition character of the hull. |
