英文摘要 | 1940's Ellen Chang came back to Shanghai from Hong Kong and adapted her war-experiences in Hong Kong as the novel of "All for Love". 50 Years after Ellen, in 1990's An-I Wang published the book of "Love and Emotion in Hong Kone", basing on the history, location, and city characters of Hong Kong. It is widely deemed that Wang could be considered as the successor of Ellen Chang and the "Shanghai literature" . This article, therefore, discussed the love and desire descriptions in "All for Love" and "Love and Emotion in Hong Kong". The city ideologies of Chang and Wang was traced and discussed. Moreover, the social and political significance of "city" and "literature"alone with the history changes are also carefully studied. It was found that the image of Hong Kong in Ellen's "All for Love" was a colonial landscape with mixing the Chinese and Western styles and alternating the new and old patterns. On the other hand, Wang portrayed Hong Kong as a floating city, which was half virtual and half real. Such a city was suitably roamed in, and not lived in. In addition, Wang succeeded the writing techniques of Ellen. However, Chang and Wang had definitely different philosophy on life to lead the theme of these two works showing different outcomes. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of scar-writing, with writing "All for Love" Ellen willed to forget and healed her mind scar from the war. On the other hand, by“Love and Emotion in Hong Kong" An-I wished to buffer the paradox and pain of the Hong Kong peoples, while they faced to the history sorrows of 1997 event. |
