英文摘要 | The Sun- Wu dynasty government appears to have followed the Han dynasty’s system of dividing and naming age groups, with people aged 14 and below being called xiao (小young) and anyone 15 or older referred to as da (大adult),a category that was further divided into da (大adult labor) and lao (老old)with an age of 60 or 61 serving as the dividing line. Capitation was first collected when a person reached the age of 15, the same as during the Han, and was collected until a person was 59 or 60, slightly longer than during the Han. The Sun- Wu government may have also levied a certain amount of capitation on people 14 and younger. Of the four items that appear on slips of household register, i.e., kou口, shi事, suan筭, and shi事, the first shi事 seems to refer to people capable of performing labor, including both adult men and women and some children of either sex (or sub-adults), while the second refers to people who should perform corvee labor for the government. |
