英文摘要 | A number of legendary tales are recounted by Su Tong and Yu Hua when tracing the fading trajectory of their families/hometowns, including the ups and downs of the family mansions as well as the adversity of landlords in southern China. Key elements in the article are the origins and ends of the families/nation involving violent political allegory in modern/contemporary China that point out the erroneous past while remedying the nation, which has undergone repeated ordeals. Secondly, misplaced space and virtual structure schemed by Su Tong and other avant-garde writers (Yu Hua and Ge Fei) are highlighted in the declining families and country legends. Then, how can they satisfy the lack and those who have come late? How can nostalgia and coagulated feelings be triggered? What kind of a cultural meaning stands behind the mourning scene? What to the repeatedly reproduced terms of the history narrate? What kind of post-modernity and political unconsciousness remains behind all this? |
