英文摘要 | This article investigates the cultural origins of Mao Zedong's revolution. One of the most noteworthy features of classical and traditional Chinese thought was ”anthropogenic constructivism.” This belief implied a distinguished character: ”immediacy,” which meant man could overcome his own one-sidedness, particularity, and relativity, and directly manifest universality, ultimateness, and absoluteness. Man needed no medium (institutions, laws, etc.)to manifest these properties; just as he was not a medium of any sacred power (God in Christianity or Hegel's Reason) to realize them in history. Rather, man was himself ”God” or ”Reason.” This article discusses the effects of ”immediacy,” how it played an important role in modern China's state-building, and how it shaped the communist revolution in modern China. |
