中文摘要 | 城隍爺為臺灣傳統信仰中一位非常具有特色的神祇,其兼有神鬼特質的特殊身份,使其於漢人民間信仰中充滿傳奇與戲劇性。另一方面,城隍兼具「城市保護神」及「冥界地方官」等多項職責的特色,更使其與人民的生活息息相關。 臺南市為臺灣最早開發地區,市中心為昔日府治所在,擁有臺灣最早之城隍廟;安平是臺灣歷史的發源地,也建有城隍廟。本文將藉由文獻資料瞭解城隍信仰的起源、發展及城隍神之職責與特色,同時經由田野豆,比較臺南市(包括市區與安平)五座城隍廟創建年代、背景,探討不同背景下各城隍廟空間格局、建築形制、祭祀空間、神龕擺設、匾聯內容及各城隍廟在城鎮中所扮演角色之異同,以期更瞭解城隍廟宇文化之特色,並呼籲注意文化資產的特性與保存的措施。 |
英文摘要 | Cheng-Huang is one of the most characteristic gods of Taiwanese traditional religion. Because of his dual god/ghost status, Cheng-Huang is full of legend and dramatization. Besides, Cheng-Huang has many duties, including “the protector of the city” and “the governor of the nether world”, which make the god refer to people’s everyday lives. Tainan, the oldest city in Taiwan where the earliest administration center is located, owns the first Cheng-Huang Temple in Taiwan. There is also a Cheng-Huang Temple in An Ping which is the origin of Taiwanese history. The paper starts with the studying of Cheng-Huang’s origination, development, duties and characters. Through observations and field investigations, the paper also compares the construction era and background of the five Cheng-Huang Temples in Tainan (including city center and An Ping). After exploring Cheng-Huang and the background of the temples above, the influences on the temple’s layout, worship space, traditional built form, arrangement of the shrine, “bian” (inscribed boards) and “lian” (inscribed couplets) of the five temples will be analyzed in order. Try to enhance the awareness of the influences between the background culture and the temple design. Furthermore, we hope that people can pay more attention to the characters of the culture heritage when carrying out the renovation. |
