| 英文摘要 | A special genre of Chinese literature, “Fu”, being rich in content, can be very variable in its form. The sentence pattern is either regular or irregular. The content can be an interlocution or a monologue, in a subjective or objective, serious or humorous tone, and may be suitable for refined or popular tastes. The exhaustive description of “Fu” is one of its distinguishing features. Almost all Chinese rhymed verses can fit into the category of “Fu” excluding “Ge” (songs), “Shi” (poetry), “Ci” (lyrice), and “Qu” (operatic literature). Traditionally, researchers have classified “Fu” into various types by the different styles which originated in different dynasties. Researchers often focused on the ones written by intellectuals until the discovery of certain documents in the Dun-hung Caves in the early years of the 20□ century. This discovery aroused the interests of scholars in Dun-hung studies. Among the scrolls found in the Dun-hung Caves, there is one series of narrative works also named “Fu,” such as “Han-pong Fu,” “Yan-tzu Fu,” and “Swallow Fu,” which have popular content and are written in popular language. They are quite different from the intellectuals' works, and thus are called “Folk Fu.” In this study, we would like to discuss “Folk Fu” in three dimensions: its name, its origin, and its formation. Here, “Folk Fu” indicates not only the kind discovered in the Dun-hung Caves, or the sort being popular among the folk, but also the whole genre originating from it. It has a significant status in the development of Chinese literature. We'll first talk about the origin of “Folk Fu” and later discuss its potential to be chanted or recited, supporting this claim with some written evidence. Finally, we'll make some inferences about the formation of “Folk Fu” to better understand its developmental process. |
